ANGEL WINGS SHAWL MINISTRY

Picture
Is a group of ladies who meet regularly to knit/crochet prayer shawls as a means to bring God’s love, comfort and peace to those in needs.

As the ladies begin their projects they say a pray for the recipient so that prayers are being offered for their well being, recovery and peace of mind. By the time the person receives the shawl it is filled with prayers for that individual. When they wrap themselves in it they can feel the warmth and love from the prayers.

Everyone is welcome to come to our meetings. Those in our church who do not know how to knit or crochet have graciously provided us with donations of yarn. Many have used their skills to hand stitch tags on the finished shawl that says it was “Made with Love by St Mary’s Angel Wings Ministry”. Others are happy to deliver the shawls to people in need.

The ministry has been extremely rewarding, knowing we are helping to provide “a hug from God” to those who are in need. Shawl recipients always comment on how soft and warm the yarn is, like God’s love for all of us!

We have made over three hundred prayer shawls since we started last January. If anyone knows of a person in need of a shawl or would like to add a person’s name to our prayer list please contact Pat Paul.
