FAITH FORMATION AT ST. MARY'S

MISSION: ENGAGE. ENCOUNTER. EVANGELIZE.

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?"
They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"
Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

Every human person must come to answer the simple question asked of Simon Peter on that day on the heights of the Golan. It is, in fact, the answer to this question that will lead each person to his or her eternal destiny.

To bring adults and children to the knowledge of the Truth is the deepest identity of the Church. The task of every Christian is to engage the culture with the renewed vision that comes from an encounter with the risen Christ. From engagement to encounter, the disciple of Jesus enters into the mission of Christ – evangelization -- to spread the good news to all people. To assist Christians in this most important mission St. Mary Queen of Angel’s parish offers formation for children, teens, and adults. We invite all persons to come ever more deeply to knowledge of the Lord Jesus, through Sacred Scripture, the Church’s liturgy and service to the poor and the needy.

Objectives:
  • Promote life-long formation in the Catholic faith, through age-appropriate religious education, Sacramental formation, and catechetical leadership training.
  • Remain faithful to the message and the messenger, Jesus Christ, the teaching authority of the Holy Father, the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, and our Bishop.
